During 2020 A Squared has looked to strengthen its links with the local community in Weston Super Mare, here’s an update of who we backed with our sport sponsorship.

Weston Super Mare Ladies Football team

In September we teamed up as one of the sponsors of the Weston Super Mare Ladies football team and our logo can now been seen emblazoned on the shorts of their new kit.

The women’s team has been running for over 10 years now and since June has been managed by former Head of Coaching at Bristol City Foundation and current Sports Lecturer at Weston College, Sarah Adams.

With the season already heavily disrupted by the 2nd lock-down, some of October and all of November’s fixtures have had to be postponed.

We are looking forward to seeing the ladies team in action in December if grass-roots football can return when the Covid restrictions are lifted and will be keeping a close eye on the results throughout the season!

WSM Open Badminton Club

You may remember our Blog article from back in July 2019 regarding us starting our sponsorship of the Weston Super Mare Badminton club? We have continued the sponsorship into the 2020 season and asked for a small update from Paul Edwards who runs the club.

How was Covid affected our season? Covid 19 caused the postponement of the North Somerset Badminton League which usually runs from 1st Oct to 1st Apr and in which A Squared Technologies has been sponsoring a team.

Due to the massive demand for competitive play WSM Open BC was at the forefront of setting up an interim league with Uphill and Chew Valley. WSM Open BC contributed 10 teams into the 5 divisions of the “Autumn Open League”.

Over 30 fixtures were played before lock-down 2 was initiated and the intention is to resume as soon as sanctions are lifted. All matches are played in a Covid compliant manner. A Squared Technologies are sponsoring a WSM Open BC team in Division 2 of the mens league.

The team managed 3 fixtures prior to lock-down and are just 3 points off top spot. The team consists of Sebastian Rabura, Slawomir Trybus and Austin Hughes

A Squared are always on the lookout to help and support local organisations, clubs and talent. From sport sponsorship to charitable causes we like to feel part of the community and be involved where we can be. Take a look through some of our other blogs to see ways in which we are involved and keep your eyes peeled for more exciting news in 2021.
